What actually happens after the course? How does that translate into the daily practice of a trainer? Two Milo alumni explain how the course laid their foundation.
From searching to self-assured
Willemijn is a personal trainer and coach. Liv combines physiotherapy with personal training. They met on the work floor, started training together and soon discovered that they had both completed the Milo course.
What they share: before the course they were searching. As a trainer, as an athlete, in how and what. After the course they stood in a different place.
"Thanks to the course I have established a really beautiful, stable foundation, which means that as a trainer I stand there very confidently," says Willemijn. Liv recognises that: "It gave me a really broad, stable foundation, which meant I have really been able to keep building on the trainer I want to become and be."
That is exactly what the course aims for. No tricks or quick certificates, but a foundation you can build on for years.
Theory that comes to life
What sets Milo apart, according to the alumni, is how the theory translates into practice. The learning environment offers text, images and video. But it doesn't stop at consuming.
Even before the practical days you are actively engaged: filming yourself, analysing, bringing it into the lesson. Different forms of learning recur throughout the course, which makes it accessible and achievable for everyone. Whether you learn best by reading, watching or doing.
On the practical days everything comes together. What you have learned in theory, you apply under the guidance of the mentors. That is the moment when you notice that you not only know it, but can also do it.
A shared foundation
That Willemijn and Liv found each other through their shared Milo background is no coincidence. The course brings together people who take the profession seriously. People who want to look further than a set of ten repetitions and who genuinely want to help their clients.
That shared foundation makes it easier to work together, learn from each other and keep each other sharp. Even long after the course.
