From observing to coaching yourself: this is how the ten practical days of the Milo PT course build you up step by step into a confident trainer.

You have studied for three weeks. Read theory, watched videos, made notes. And then the moment arrives: your first practical day. The moment when everything you have learned comes to life.

Ten lessons, increasing responsibility

The Milo PT course has ten practical lessons. These are deliberately structured so that your responsibility grows as you progress.

In the first lessons you mainly watch and observe. How does an experienced mentor coach? What do they pay attention to? Which choices do they make, and why? You learn to see before you learn to do.

As the lessons progress, the focus shifts:

  • You start testing and directing exercises yourself
  • You coach fellow students and receive direct feedback
  • You program training sessions and defend your choices
  • You lead exercises and complete sessions

Towards the end of the programme you stand in front of the group yourself. Not because you are thrown into it, but because you are ready for it.

What you learn in practice

The practical days are not a repetition of the theory. They are where you learn to apply what you know.

Exercises. You test them yourself, feel what happens and then teach them to others. That is something different from knowing an exercise from a picture. You only really understand what an exercise does once you have coached it with someone performing it for the first time.

Energy systems. You experience the difference between aerobic and anaerobic stimuli in your own body. You program sessions aimed at endurance, at strength, at muscle growth, and you see the effects on your fellow students.

Coaching. You learn to observe, recognise points for intervention and give feedback that actually changes something. That takes practice, and the practical days give you that space.

The group

You train and learn with a group of like-minded people. Different backgrounds and levels, but everyone with the same goal: to get the most out of the course and become a strong trainer.

That dynamic is valuable. You learn not only from the mentors, but also from each other. You see how others approach the same exercise differently, how they coach, what they struggle with. That accelerates your development.

The mentors

Throughout the entire programme the Milo mentors stand beside you. These are not theory teachers who drop by occasionally. They are highly experienced trainers and coaches who know exactly what this profession demands of you.

They observe how you coach, give you direct feedback and help you grow on the points where you need it. Personal, not generic.

After the exam

After ten practical lessons and an exam, you step into the field with confidence. Not because you have a diploma in your pocket, but because you have done it. You have coached, programmed, led and received feedback. You know what you can do, and you know where you still want to grow.

That is the difference between a course that prepares you and a course that only informs you.
