General
When do I start?
Courses start in and around May, September, and January. You can always register for the next course, and sometimes for a subsequent period by getting in contact with us. After your registration, you will have immediate access to the online learning environment so that you can prepare optimally.
What is Milo?
Milo is a training institute for ambitious personal trainers and nutrition coaches. We combine scientific knowledge with practical experience in small groups, guided by active professionals from the field.
How is Milo different from other courses?
At Milo you learn from mentors who are still active practitioners. Our groups are small (max 15-20 students), so you get personal guidance. The focus is on directly applicable knowledge: what you learn on Saturday, you can use with your clients on Monday.
Where do classes take place?
We teach at multiple locations in the Netherlands, including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Zwolle. Each location is a professional gym where you learn in a realistic setting. Check the location pages for more details.
Can I do the course alongside my job or studies?
Yes, all our courses are designed for people who work or study. You pick one fixed class day that comes back every 3 weeks (personal trainer) or 4 weeks (nutrition coach). Whether you can only do weekdays, only weekends, or prefer evenings, there's always a group that fits. The online learning environment is available 24/7 from the moment you enroll. Expect 8-12 hours of self-study per week.
How can I pay?
You can pay in full or choose installment payments. The exact terms and amounts can be found on each course page. Payment is processed through our secure payment environment (Plug & Pay) via iDEAL, credit card or bank transfer.
Will I receive an invoice?
Yes, you will automatically receive an invoice after payment. The course is tax-deductible as educational expenses for many people. Consult your accountant or the tax authority for your specific situation.
How large are the groups?
Our groups are intentionally kept small: an average of 15 to 20 students per cohort. This way you get sufficient personal attention from mentors and can practice optimally.
I'm unsure which course to choose. How do I decide?
Take our free quiz to discover which course suits you best. You can also contact us via WhatsApp or the contact form. We're happy to help you choose.
Is the kick-off mandatory?
No. The kick-off is an extra for early enrollers. But everyone who attended says it made a real difference.
Does the Frontrunners kick-off apply to every course?
Yes. You can be a Frontrunner for both the Personal Trainer and the Nutrition Coach course, regardless of your start date or location.
What if I just miss the kick-off deadline?
You can still enroll for the course, but you will miss the kick-off. Get in touch if you are just too late, we will see what is possible.
I don't know much about the courses yet. Can I still be a Frontrunner?
Absolutely. Check the course pages for all details about content, locations, pricing and start dates. Got questions? Book a call with Belle, she will help you choose.
Is the kick-off a sales pitch?
No. The kick-off is exclusively for enrolled students. No sales, no pitch. Just preparation.
Can I combine it with work?
Yes. The course is hybrid: online modules at your own pace, practical days once every 3 to 4 weeks on a fixed day. Most students work fulltime alongside it.
That's a lot of money
Correct. A Milo course is a serious investment, and that's how it should be. Our alumni earn their course back within 3 months on average. Instalments are possible and we'll think with you about what works.
I have no experience or diploma in fitness
No problem. Many of our students come from a completely different field. We start from the basics and build step by step. We do ask you to be able to perform basic exercises in strength training like the squat, deadlift and bench press. This doesn't need to be on a high level.
Am I too old or too young?
Our students range from 18 to 55+. It's not about age or fitness level, but your drive to become a great trainer. You do not need to be a top athlete.
I already have a PT diploma
Good. Many of our students do too. The difference is in the depth: anatomy, programming, coaching skills. We don't train paper-holders, we train trainers who deliver.
I want to talk first
Exactly why Belle is here. Book a no-strings call. No sales, just honest advice on whether Milo fits you.
When can I start?
You can start with the online modules right away. Practical sessions start at fixed moments throughout the year. Check the start dates to find the best fit.
Is the theory too demanding?
The theory is solid, as it should be for a serious course. But it is manageable: you work through clearly structured modules at your own pace, and your mentors keep a close eye on you. With 8-12 hours a week you will get through it well. If you get stuck, reach out and we will help you.
Where do I go with my question?
For quick questions about the courses: send us a WhatsApp message, that is where we respond fastest. Already a student with an administrative question, for example about invoices, scheduling or catching up on a lesson? Email info@miloeducation.com so your question lands with the right person right away.
Do you offer discounts?
No. We do not give discounts as a matter of principle: the course is worth its price, the same for everyone. What we do instead: early enrollers get more value for the same money, such as the online kick-off and immediate access to the online learning environment.
Unable to pay in full or in installments?
Get in touch. Besides the standard installment option, we are happy to think along personally about what is possible in your situation. Send us a WhatsApp message or book a call with Belle.
Personal Trainer course
How much study time should I allocate per week?
On average 8-12 hours per week, excluding practical lessons (10 lessons of 3.5 hours in total).
Do I need prior knowledge?
No. We believe it is important that you have an open mind and a willingness to learn. We do expect you to train enthusiastically on your own, particularly strength training, and to know basic exercises. Are you unsure? Contact us, and we will discuss your situation.
What is the duration of the course?
The course lasts a total of 33 weeks, from the kick-off to the exam. Potentially 36-38 weeks if you need to retake an exam. You can always start online immediately after registering.
How often do I have practical lessons?
You have a practical lesson every three weeks. In total, you have 10 practical lessons, including your exam.
What if I miss a class?
That is very unfortunate. Attending all classes is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended. If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know as soon as possible. We can then see if you can join another group or book a PT session with one of the mentors. Please note: classes 9 and 10 are mandatory.
Can I move on to another group?
Yes. Should an unexpected situation arise that temporarily prevents you from participating, it is possible to transfer to the next cohort in consultation. Placement is subject to availability. We charge a transfer fee of €500 for this transition.
What if I don't pass the exam?
You will receive a free on-site retake after 3 weeks. Should you fail the retake, you can retake the exam via a private session or with another group at the mentor rate.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes, in 7 installments of €499. The installment payments involve more administrative work, which is why you are paying one extra installment.
Can I start my own business after the course?
Yes. Many alumni start as self-employed personal trainers, join a gym, or build it up gradually alongside their current job. Your mentors work on the gym floor themselves and share how they did it: from your first paying clients to rates and invoicing.
Can I work abroad with this diploma?
In the Netherlands personal training is not a protected profession, so no course carries an official government accreditation. What you can do: after the Personal Trainer course you register with EREPS, the European register for exercise professionals, at EQF level 3 (Fitness Instructor) and level 4 (Personal Trainer). That is not a work permit and it is nowhere mandatory, but it is a level a foreign employer can place. A Dutch diploma on its own often is not, because they do not know our education system.
Nutrition Coach course
How much study time should I allocate per week?
On average 8-12 hours per week, excluding practical lessons (6 lessons of 3.5 hours in total).
Who is the Nutrition Coach training suitable for?
For personal trainers, fitness coaches, lifestyle coaches, entrepreneurs in the fitness or health industry, people who want to add nutrition to their coaching, and people considering a career switch towards health. Also for those interested in psychology, behavior, and lifestyle.
What can I do after the course?
You can add nutritional guidance to your personal training or fitness coaching, start online coaching programs, guide clients through lifestyle and behavioral change, and give workshops or lectures on nutrition and lifestyle. The focus is on sustainable behavioral change.
What will I learn during the course?
You build a foundation in nutrition, energy balance and macronutrients, lifestyle (sleep, stress), the psychology behind eating behavior, and coaching and communication techniques. You learn not only what someone should do, but above all how to guide people through behavioral change.
Do you follow a specific diet or dietary movement?
No. We do not work from one specific diet. Instead, you learn the fundamental scientific principles of nutrition, allowing you to always tailor your advice to your client's person, situation, and goals.
Why is there an emphasis on psychology and behavioral change?
In practice, many people know what they should do but struggle to put it into practice. With the rise of AI, anyone can have a nutrition plan created, but guiding behavioral change requires real coaching skills: recognizing patterns, asking the right questions, and understanding motivation.
Do I need prior knowledge for the Nutrition Coach training?
No. The program starts with the basics and builds a strong foundation step by step. An interest in health, nutrition, and psychology is a plus, however.
Can I take the Nutrition Coach training alongside my job?
Yes. Many students take the course alongside their job as a personal trainer, coach, or entrepreneur. On average, you spend 8 to 12 hours per week on self-study, plus a 3.5-hour practical lesson once every four weeks.
How is the Nutrition Coach training structured?
There are 6 modules spread over 24 weeks. Each module lasts 4 weeks. You study the theory via the online learning environment and work with case studies and coaching exercises during the practical lessons, in small groups of a maximum of 12-14 students.
Is an internship mandatory?
No. However, during the program you will start building a portfolio, in which you apply the knowledge you have learned to a practical case, for example a client from your work, a test client, or someone from your immediate circle.
What does the exam look like?
The exam (module 6) consists of two parts: a theoretical test that you complete at home, and a practical exam in which your portfolio is discussed and assessed.
Will I receive a diploma?
Yes. Upon successful completion, you will receive the Milo Nutrition Coach diploma.
What if I miss a lesson in the Nutrition Coach training?
We will check if you can make up the lesson with another group. If that is not possible, you can schedule a 1-on-1 make-up session with a mentor (€85/hour excl. VAT, usually 1.5 to 2 hours). You can always choose to skip lessons, but we do not recommend this. Lessons 5 and 6 are compulsory (part of the exam).
Is this the same as a dietitian training program?
No. Dietitian is a protected medical profession with a higher professional education (HBO) track. A nutrition coach guides healthy people in making better choices. We teach you to recognize your limits and how to refer your clients in time.
Skin In The Game
Is Skin In The Game also suitable for beginners?
Yes. The program is actually very suitable for beginners. You are guided through all the basic principles of strength training right from the start. We believe it is important to teach you why we have you do certain exercises and programs.
Is the program also suitable for advanced users?
Yes. Even as an advanced athlete, there is still plenty to learn. We often see people who have been training for years but still do not understand the basic principles. If you want to take the next steps in your progress, SITG is a good choice.
What materials do I need?
Dumbbells, barbells, and a cable station – the standard equipment of a gym.
What's the duration of Skin In The Game?
The program lasts 30 weeks (~7 months). We chose this duration because you can potentially take it parallel to the Milo Personal Training course. You can start whenever you want.
How much does Skin In The Game cost?
€109 incl. VAT. Unfortunately, payment in installments is not possible with this program.
Is this a personal trainer course?
No. Skin in the Game is not a coaching or PT training program. It's a training program for yourself. However, for many people, it serves as a taster: if you survive SITG, you will know whether the full PT training is right for you.
